Roger Federer took a nice break in the off-season so I took his cue and took a break as well. But now he’s back and just in time as I was starting to get no-tennis-cabin-fever! Roger kicks off the Gillette Federer Tour in Brazil today. And it seems he thought of his die-hard fans too, for he’s just created his own youtube channel and all the matches will be streamed live! The link is http://www.youtube.com/RogerFederer. The Gillette Federer Tour includes Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Thomaz Belluci, Tommy Robredo, Mike and Bob Bryan, Bruno Soares, Marcelo Melo and Tommy Haas who filled in at the last minute for an injured David Ferrer. It also includes some of the top names on the WTA with Viktoria Azarenka, Maria Sharapova, Serena Williams and Caroline Wozniacki.

Roger has had interesting matches against the other players he is playing in this exhibition series. Tsonga had that amazing Wimbledon 2011 match where he came back from 2 sets down to defeat Federer in the QFs. Bellucci has never defeated Federer but he always pushes the Swiss to the brink and in Basel this year, he almost looked on the verge of a win; only for Roger to do what he does best, go up a gear when faced with imminent defeat. Roger kept his record against Bellucci untarnished. Haas and Federer are good friends and contemporaries on tour; furthermore Haas has had an amazing comeback year jumping back from being ranked 205 to ending the year and 21. And just to add a bit more spice, the last time they played, Tommy defeated Roger at Halle this year.
