Round 3 of the BNP Paribas Open 2013 at Indian Wells kicks off today and Roger Federer is scheduled to be on Stadium 1 again. As you can see, Roger’s match is the 2nd one in the afternoon session which starts at 2:30pm local time, i.e. 9:30pm GMT. This probably means that Federer won’t be on court till 3:30pm or possibly 4:00pm local time which means 11:00pm GMT (daylight savings time at Indian Wells is incorporated in this estimated time). Here is the line-up for Stadium 1:Roger’s opponent in Round 3 is Ivan Dodig of Croatia. Dodig’s claim to fame was his defeat of Nadal in Montreal in 2011. He is currently ranked 60 in the world though he was ranked as high as 32 back in 2011. This will be the very first meeting between Dodig and the Swiss which is why Federer won’t take him lightly especially since he’s already caused an upset by beating Benneteau in Round 2. Here is the H2H for the two.Other than Roger’s match there are quite a few matches that should be very interesting to watch today. Hewitt vs. Wawrinka should be a blockbuster with both having reputations of going the distance. Seppi vs. Gulbis will be entertaining for Gulbis himself who is on an incredible run and just took out world #9 Tipsarevic in Round 2. Drama always follows Janowicz so you could tune in for his match with Gasquet or even Paire vs. Simon for the flair and the monologues. In the meantime, here’s to Roger and hoping he brings his same form from Round 2 into his Round 3 match!
